Where the cluck is UMBCS Chick-fil-A?
Where is Chick-fil-A? This pressing question is on the lips of many UMBC students who assumed that by now they would finally have an alternative to the Commons and the Dining Hall. However, if one stops by the University Center there is not yet anything resembling the home of the original chicken sandwich. When Chartwells was awarded the contract for providing food service at UMBC, there was much rejoicing because of the franchise eateries that were promised. Anticipation grew as a dining website was created to list the new food options with the Chick-fil-A listed as opening in October. With less than two weeks left in October there is no sign of the restaurant and no communication to the campus about where and when we will ever get the centerpiece of the new food service contract. I implore you UMBC and Chartwells, bring Chick-fil-A to campus. Locating food in the University Center will help shift the crowds from the Commons that is already packed at lunchtime throughout the week. Thi
