Where should i start looking to fix a Honda crv 1998 accessory power outlet that is shorted out?
FIRST THING: Make sure that there is a good fuse in the fuse panel. If the fuse is good – since the wiring is all pretty well protected from damage, it is probably the socket itself that has gone bad, either from over-use or mis-use. Rather than starting to trace wiring circuits, that’s where I would start. Gain access to the socket location and remove it and test it, or simply replace it. If it still shorts out, THEN you can begin the tedious task of wire tracing -OR, better method – simply run a new wire to the fuse panel bypassing the old/bad one.
