Where should I report time spent writing articles for professional or non-academic journals?
This depends on the purpose of the article. For example, if the purpose of the article is to disseminate the results of research to professional practitioners, the time spent writing the article should be recorded as Core Research Activity. If, on the other hand, the purpose of the article is to express your opinion on an area of current topical debate associated with your teaching activity, or to transfer you existing professional knowledge in this area, the time spent should be recorded as Support for Teaching.
