Where should financial coaching be conducted?
It’s important that the setting for coaching be as neutral as possible. Therefore, meeting in the coach’s home is not recommended. A home setting often results in disruptions that impair good communication. In addition, coaches need to protect their family time. People with great needs can sometimes take advantage of a coach’s concern, so contact should be limited to scheduled appointments. The church or other supportive ministry environment is a good neutral place conducive to coaching. People who feel uncomfortable in a church setting may not be receptive to advice based on God’s Word.
