Where should DOT400 series cargo tanks have their metal certification plates attached?
The metal certification plate should be permanently affixed to a cargo tank and located near the front left side of the cargo tank stating that the cargo tank conforms with all applicable Federal Hazardous Materials Regulations in effect on the date of the original manufacture or modification. 49 CFR 178.320 (a).
