When people think about anonymous surfing they usually end up gravitating towards using anonymous proxies. What these do is allow you to point your web browser at a proxy server (configured in tools section usually) and then surf via this server. The idea is that the web server you are using cannot trace back to your IP address (it will see only the Proxy server address). This does works in theory but the problem is that you have to be careful which proxy server you use as many, many of the free ones are just misconfigured or hacked servers – remember you are sending all your web traffic via this server. Even if you find a legit one then your browsing will be extremely slow.
