Where Is Zinc Found in Nature?
Zinc is found in the Earth’s crust, but never as a free element. It is found and extracted in various ores such as smithsonite, zinc spar or zinc carbonate, for some, and the largest producer of zinc ore in the world today is Canada. Other important producing nations are Australia, China, Peru, the US, Mexico and more than half of the zinc produced comes from Alaska.
