Where is there morality in the Red Badge of Courage?
The morality is the uselessness of war as the proof of mankind irrational ideals and conquests. The US Civil War was inevitable yet it raises speculations as to whether the slavery issues remained mankind’s most shameful conduct or rather was it more directed to right a wrong on mankind history. however Crane’s concern still continue to be the depiction of human nature as environmentally determined and behind it, the eternal quest of identity and one’s own vulnerabilty.
