Where Is The Valley Of The Kings Located In Egypt?
The Valley of Kings is observed on the West Bank of the River Nile. This area is also called the Theban Necropolis.The city of Thebes is seen across the valley. This place is in Egypt which is also known as the Arab Republic of Egypt. Egypt along with its Sinai Peninsula is in North Africa. To the west of Egypt lies Libya, to the south is Sudan, to the northeast is Israel and Gaza Strip, and to the north is Mediterranean Sea and to the east the Red Sea.The Valley of Kings is positioned at 25.44′ N latitude and 32.36′ E longitude. The tombs of the Egyptian Pharoahs and nobles were hidden here in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Above th e valley is al-Qurn, the mountain which resembles+a pyramid. The Hashetpupt temple of Deir-el-Bahri faces the valley of Kings. The tomb of Tutankhamen was found in the excavations of 1922. It held the ‘Treasure of King Tut’.
