Where is the US government site which offers 1st time home buyers down payment assistance?

I don’t know if the US government does that. All the first time homebuyer’s programs I’ve ever seen were state, county or city. I received a California state first time homebuyer’s program that gave me a below market rate fixed loan, plus some downpayment assistance. My mortgage broker found it for me. I had gone in there with info about a city sponsored one, but it had gone through it’s funding for that year already, and she found the state program instead. And that’s what I recommend you do. Go talk to a mortgage broker and tell him/her you want them to look into first time homebuyer programs when they are searching for your financing.
