Trains to Carlisle are about one an hour from Glasgow Central.

Yes you’ll have time as the Glasgow Central isn’t that big to change platforms. The direct fast Carlisle trains (destined for London Euston) are run by Virgin which go from either platform 1, 2 or sometimes 10 I think. Check the big board when you get into the station. There are slower train to Carlisle, not sure about these, check the Scotrail website.
