Where is the source of water that Illini Bio-Energy intends to use?
The water for the plant is expected to come from the Mahomet Aquifer. Water maps and studies available from the Illinois State Water Survey show that the area north of Lincoln sits at the southern edge of the Mahomet Aquifer. This aquifer is a significant body of water available to the central Illinois area and is the source of water for numerous municipalities in the area, as well as the source of irrigation waters to the farms and fields of Mason County.
