A. There is no indoor shopping mall in SLO County. There are few large chain stores except for grocery stores which are plentiful all around the County. There was an indoor shopping mall years ago at Madonna Plaza in SLO but it died and has been replaced with outdoor stores such as Staples, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Cost Plus. Madonna Plaza also has a new Best Buy, Petco, and a Borders opening soon. Downtown SLO has lots of independent stores but there has been some chains that have opened in recent years (Gap, Barnes and Noble). In the South County, there is the Pismo Coast Outlet Mall right off of Highway 101 in Pismo Beach. In Arroyo Grande, there is a Walmart, Trader Joes, and Marshalls. In the North County, there is a Target in Paso Robles and a smaller outlet mall in Atascadero.
