The award-winning park district has practically anything a family could want in the way of recreation. The District maintains 114 parks covering more than 2,000 acres. Hundreds of programs are offered throughout the year. The administration building is located along the Riverwalk at 320 W. Jackson Avenue. Business hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to noon Saturday. The Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, located at 305 W. Jackson Avenue, is home to New Horizons – a program for everyone 55 and better. Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
