Where is the money to pay compensation claims under Measure 37 supposed to come from?
Measure 37 was intentionally written to allow governments to decide from where or if compensation claims would be paid. Right now, the cost of land use planning in Oregon is being paid by individual property owners, not the public as a whole. It only seems fair that if the citizens of the state of Oregon are going to receive some perceived public benefit from land use planning, that citizens of Oregon share in the cost of the system.
