Between the beginning and end of the chain! Actually, Honda and Mr. Ogilvie recommend against using a master link on the BRP. They call for a staked link, which is what comes stock. I have run masterlinks without any issues, other than you have to periodically replace the clip as it wears on the chain blocks. You do know the correct way to install the clip, right?
