They both are located in Beijing. Temple of Heaven is located in the south of Beijing. Temple of Heaven was the place where emperors of the Ming (1368 -1644) and Qing (1644 -1911) Dynasties came to worship the God of Heaven and pray for good harvests on behalf of their people and country. The Summer Palace is located in the northwest of Beijing. It is an imperial Summer resort since 1750 and considered the masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design .
