Where is the jail located?
The physcial address of the jail is: 401 East Main Street Salem, Virginia 24153 Directions from I-81: Exit 140 (Salem/Roanoke College), Thompson Memorial Blvd to E. Main Street. The Jail and Courthouse Complex is located at the intersection of Thompson Memorial and E. Main Street on the right side of the street. Additional parking can be found across Thompson Memorial Blvd behind the Quickway Food Mart.
The jail is located adjacent to the Municipal Courthouse and Sheriff’s Office, just off State Route 222 approximately 2 miles north of the village of Batavia. From State Route 275 take State Route 32 east to the State Route 132/222 exit (Owensville). Turn right on State Route 222 and continue for approximately 1 mile to the jail. From the east take State Route 32 west to the State Route 132/222 exit (Owensville). Turn left on State Route 132 and proceed for approximately 0.5 mile. Turn right on State Route 222 and continue for approximately 1 mile to the jail.
