Where is the increase valve on Potterton Lynx 2 boiler….please help!!!?
A bit late to answer but I had this boiler and as the gas man said there is a filling loop which has to be used. It is a short braided hose with connection at each end. You look for two connectors on the water pipes, usually near the boiler, and connect the hose. Then slowly open the little taps on the connectors. Water will flow from the mains into the CH circuit and the pressure valve on the front of the boiler will rise will rise. You need about 1.0 to 1.5 bar. Anything less than 1.0 and the boiler may not fire. If you go substantially above 1.5 the boiler will vent excess via the safety valve to outside the building. Also high pressure may also result in annoying leaks in the system. Turn off both little taps when you have reached 1.5 bar and disconnect at least one end of the filling loop. This is good practise as the taps can ‘let by’ and slowly over pressurise the boiler.
