Where is the Gower?
The Gower Coast begins at Mumbles, or Oystermouth, which is a few miles to the west of Swansea, along the coast road. There are plenty of places to stay in Oystermouth, which is famous for its Golden Mile of hostelries where you can drink and eat as much as you can. From Oystermouth you can actually walk to the westernmost tip of the Gower coast which is Rhossili, a walk that is mainly along cliff paths. You can do it in stages, stopping off at Oxwich, or one of the other villages on the route. Rhossili is stunning; a sandy stretch of three miles of golden sand, with hardly anyone on it.
