There are two styles of microphones in the MXL product line. One type is a side address microphone. This has a cardioid pattern symbol or an MXL logo on the body or the grill which indicates the front of the microphone. The other type is an end address microphone in which the front of the microphone is located at the opposite end of the XLR jack.
