All steel is sold to Corus in South Wales. The cans are melted alongside other steel scrap and could be made into anything made from steel. The South Wales Corus plant mostly produces sheet steel used in applications like motor vehicles, fridges or back into new cans. All aluminium is sold to Novelis in Warrington. The cans are melted and made into massive slabs of aluminium that is rolled back into new can sheet. Within a few weeks of reaching the plant the aluminium is back on the shelf as a new can.
