Where is the Effective Practices Guide (EPG)?
The EPG can be found under the Resources tab of the online toolkit. It is a 119 page document that should be read BEFORE beginning use of the Tool Kit. The staffing workbook is the second part of the EPG or can be downloaded separately. The Research Survey, Research Report and Technical report are also on this same page. The documents are in PDF format. There are two reports which are useful to read before completing the online toolkit. The RETAINS Next Generation (NG) Report and the RETAINS compiled report can also be found under the resources tab. Both reports were released in 2009. The RETAINS NG report is a follow-up to the first report, examining current turnover rates in addition to guidelines for dispatcher staffing, organizational commitment, psychological distress and much more. The compiled report synthesizes the data from the first and next generation reports.
