where is the Department of Agriculture located in the Capital Region?
It is not on Capital Hill, which has a whole array of nearby/convenient/public/private meal options. PDA has a very, very small cafeteria that does not offer an effective working business meeting option; and, we should not displace agency staff from this limited space cafeteria in favor of a business meeting that must work through the meal hour. The only other two options are Burger King and the Maverick Restaurant. Neither of these two are effective options for obvious reasons. The point is, the agency does not have all the options that are available to others. This is why those who designed the agency building, years ago, included a kitchen and food service area option in one of the business meeting rooms. They knew this agency had a unique situation. In no way whatsoever is there an intention to over emphasize the commodity aspect or locational problem. But, there should be at least some fair and reasonable understanding of the agency’s uniqueness and its missions. We will redouble
