my rear air shocks on my 96 lincoln town car does not stay up,the compressor use to come on,but doesn’t any more, where is the compressor, and is there a relay or sesor that could be bad?I tried the switch in the trunk. A: The compressor for the rear air suspension sits directly under the air cleaner housing, at the driver side/front corner of the engine compartment. Simply remove the air cleaner housing to access. Check for power and ground to the compressor, and if they are good, the compressor is burned out. You should repair the air leak to the suspension system or else you will have a repeat failure issue, if that’s not addressed. Hope this helps.
