Where is the BPP today?
E teng (It is there). I am the first to admit that we are not as vibrant as we should be. When I took over (as party president) in 2003, there were two things that I had to do. First, I had to revive the party. Second, I had to convince the breath and length of Botswana that BPP is not a Kalanga party as it had come to be known. I had to go into the founding documents to convince people that the issue of BPP being a party of the north was far from the truth. Did you manage? Yes and no. As regards reviving the party, I think we are still not at a place where we can safely say the BPP is a serious contender. There are many factors that worked against us. First, as a revolutionary movement, the BPP policies mattered most before independence. We were talking about fighting for the independence of our country.
