Everytime I shop at Via Lago I’m greeted with happy, fun, friendly sales people more than willing to help me find the perfect thing. I am convinced they care about their customers and want to help us ~ to update our look or find something just perfect or special. Not pushy. I know I need help. They seem to have more of a variety of different trendy things than I have found anywhere else. Warning, if you find something and don’t buy it then and there, don’t expect to find it next time your are in the store~ everything seems to sell out pretty quickly. They now have another store in West Linn at the new village where the “Market of Choice” is (great grocery store too!) – perfect for me as I live exactly half way between Lake O and West Linn. My husband isn’t that excited when he sees the bills! Oh well…:-) But I’m lookin good!

Like any other Anthropologie, this store is expensive but highly appealing to browse. The entire store is like an piece of art in and of itself. Overpriced regular items are a deterrent but the sale section usually has a few finds if you like to dig. Pros + Fun to browseCons – Pricey

This is a super fabulous shop. It offers a variety of styles and very reasonable prices. It’s a great little destination shop for women who like to support local business owners and are tired of the “same old, same old” found at the Mall. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. Be warned …. I have never left this store empty-handed. There always seems to be something fun to buy from Chandi t-shirts and Kenzie sweaters, to local designed jewelry. As a “fashion enthusiast”, Moxie has been added to my list of shops to hit on a regular basis.

When I visit, I am torn by feelings spite towards all that is trendy and pleasure and surprise at finding something that I like that is different from the generic items that many of the larger chains carry. It is a fine line that Urban Outfitters walks. Admittedly it is marketed towards a more affluent younger crowd, but if I could afford to buy more, I probably would. Curse you Urban Outfitters! Pros + not shopping for a twinsetCons – i’m not spending daddy’s money, i’m spending my own

The Xtabay is the only place I can think of in Portland that is actually fun to shop at and I don’t leave feeling like crap about myself. The store has such a good range of sizes (size 10 shoes too!)and the larger items are just as lovely as the size six dresses and shoes. Each item in there has it’s own special charm. (I never feel like I’m wading through junk to get to the one tresure in the place), plus they’re ALWAYS getting in new stuff. This store is great. you must hit if you’ve never been there. OH, also the people who work there are very nice and helpful and know the inventory well enough to help you out if you’re feeling stuck. Very sincerely, Sarah F. PS the prices here are very reasonable tooPros + selection, good prices, good time atmosphereCons – uh, ?, hmmm
