I have been there twice in the last three weeks and received wonderful food and good service. The food was really good (not overly salty as other reviews mentioned) and had lots of flavor. I eat a lot of Indian and found that this food had some really unusual and tasty combinations, like their cardamom nut sauce vegetables which are currently my favorite. The portions were pretty small for the price, and the two vegetable based entrees had very small numbers of vegetables. On the other hand, the meat entries, including the one with the shrimp, were almost enough to satisfy two. The naan that comes with the meal is bubbly and large (bigger than two hands), but you only get one piece and have to order more, so plan ahead… I have never had one piece be enough to finish my meal. The dessert menu is a little lacking, with really only one Indian option, the Kulfi (ice cream). The ice cream was great, but out of sync with the rest of the fine dining experience? it came out with meltin

The first time we went to Oba, we had a three-course meal that was pretty good– but the service was inattentive and bordering on rude. The second time we went was amazing. We ordered appetizers (the gazpacho was so unique and refreshing on a hot summer day) and drinks. Their main room was closed for an event, so we sat in the crowded bar. We had no trouble finding a quaint window seat; when we were asked to move to accommodate a 10-top, we did so gladly. When we were asked to move a second time, our $60+ bill (for two people) was taken care of by management! Now that’s what I call good service.Pros + Very original menu, good dinner packagesCons – Lack of parking, erratic waitstaff

First, I swear I visit Vitis more than it is actually open. I typically drive by for dining on Mondays and after the 6th visit, I may “get it” that they are closed. What is it about Mondays & restaurants? It drives me nuts. I think — I’ll visit Vitis because they don’t have the “walk in” traffic that 21st & 23rd do, but when I go they are closed.Anyway, 1 night I actually found them open. It was good. I had meatballs and tomatoes. The meatballs ROCKED! I highly recommend them. The tomatoes were hot, small and weird. I love tomatoes, but these didn’t hit the spot. Service was good. The staff behind the bar was friendly when I arrived and on my depart. I appreciate that. So friendly that I wanted to stop again tonight. But – they were not open. Sigh. : – (Pros + Wine List, Meatballs, ServiceCons – Small Portions, High prices

I’m baffled by some of the negative comments. I wasn’t going to review this place (its busy enough as it is, so I wanted to keep it as “secret” as possible), but now I feel compelled to do so. THIS PLACE IS FANTASTIC! I don’t go often, as its a little above my budget, but I try to go at least once every month or two because the food is incredible. The gnocci is to die for (nothing close to a ‘donut’–come on for real?!) The chicken is so tasty and falls off the bone. We’ve ordered every special they’ve offered – loved them all. The various bruschettas are mouth watering. And Seth knows his wine! I really like Seth and Chantal – they are very nice, very real people. Chantal is not as engaging as Seth, but still friendly in a quieter way. And they are definitely NOT pretentious. I have to admit, on my first visit there, the place was busy and the service wasn’t uber attentive or outwardly friendly. But I came back for the food and so glad I did, because the service only impr
