What an outstanding restaurant. I know this sounds cliche, but just like my Grandmother used to make. The pasta’s are delicious and the help outstanding. Great appetizers and nice wine selection. Would recommend this for any occasion. If it were also opened at lunch it would be perfect.

Mingo is at it’s best when it keeps true to it vision of simple Italian food — house infused olive oil with a perfect chunk of bread, a trio of rice croquettes with just a touch of red sauce and a sprig of Italian parsley, a glass of wine and a little plate with 2 slices of perfect cheese and a sliced apple, tomato soup, a sublime cream of garlic soup, a perfect burger with a cold Italian lager, grilled polenta drizzled with olive oil, and on and on with any number of plated marvels. The lovely bartender, Monica, is kind, attentive, knowledgeable and makes beautiful cocktails, whether she is mixing the perfect Manhattan or one of her own design with fresh juices, or making a very knowing wine suggestion, it is not just a drink but an extraordinarily civilized end to the day. All these little wonders make this the greatest train stop in Oregon. I do not just enjoy Mingo, Mingo sustains my faith in the human experience.

Good food is hard to come by…even at places you have to know Donald Trump or Lindsey Lohan to get into. Anyone can throw cream, butter and a truffle into anything and make it “tasty.” But, unique kitchen artistry cannot be obtained at cordon bleu or by apprenticing for a food network chef. It only comes with loving devotion to the taste, smell & texture of each ingredient. So, let’s talk: GROLLA’S happy hour from 5-6:30.For $4:”Charred Roma Tomatoes marinated in a roasted garlic and sweet red wine vinegar are stuffed with pine nuts, capers and red onions then served on mixed greens with a charred tomato vinaigrette.”One medium tomato stuffed with all the things mentioned above, plus a roasted garlic clove or two, also a tiny drizzle of olive oil and a few sprigs of rosemary. It was as if each ingredient had been prepared on its own, then stuffed into the tomato before it was lightly charred (a great, tasty sear). The multitude of flavors and textures was a delight. As an employee of Twilight for the last 1.5 years I definitely know what every item in the restaurant tastes like. And I have to say I LOVE 98% of our menu items. I have had many years of working with pizza (Godfathers, Dominoes and Dragoos) and know that Twilight has the best pizza that I have come across in the Portland Metro Area. I started working as a cook my first 8 months at Twilight, and then was able to move to the front of the house and become a server. I truly enjoy serving at Twilight and taking care of our guests. We have quite a few fantastic regulars, who I look forward to seeing weekly. I have met many fantastic people and have heard sooooo many compliments about our food, service, decor (the floor and the giant blue paper lantern), our involvement with the community, and the general atmosphere of the restaurant. There are people that drive from Lake Oswego and Woodland when they want pizza. (That is a huge honor, since there are dozens of pizza joints between us
