Where is the Best Wine List in Nashville, Tennessee?

I have been here twice, the first time for a private party. We received a private room, great attention. The food was awesome. Rich but not too heavy. I had the salmon with pine nuts and pesto. I tried to copy that recipe at home right away. Pasta was a bit mushy but still good. Prices are right on the fence. Second time, server was good. Food was just as good as I remembered. One thing that confused me was the table in the kitchen. I don’t know why anyone would want to sit there. Too noisy, busy.Pros + Awesome food, private dining, the wine flowsCons – Can be expensive

My friend has recently moved to East Nashville and so we’ve been exploring the non-chain eateries in the area. This place has great ambiance. It helps that the weather was amazing last night, low humidity and cool, so we were able to take advantage of the back porch which is lovely. There were flowers blooming, swings to sip wine in, and the building itself is an eyecatching shade of eggplant. My friend tried a standard on the menu, a pesto pasta dish, while I had two of the specials…a pear salad and pizza. I really liked the pear salad. Most salads seem to derive their flavor from heavy dressings while the flavor of this salad centered on fresh pear and grape slices. The pizza was a thin crust with tomatoes and artichokes. Usually I’m not a big fan of thin crust, but this pizza won me over and my friend enjoyed her pasta. One specific thing to note…when I eat I have the habit of picking meat dishes looking to protein to sate my appetite. At the end of our meal last nigh

don’t get me wrong, I like Mafiaoza’s, but it really isn’t because of the pizza. Tuesday two for one is pretty enticing. But it is hard to get excited about the pizza. two things that make great pizza to me are the crust and sauce. mafiaoza’s has great crust, but the sauce really lacks, the last couple of pizza’s I got barely had any at all. A friend ordered the buschetta and it came as a big loaf of bread with the tomatoes just poured over the top. Not really appetizing. For happy hour go to Mafiaoza’s, but for Pizza go to Angelos Picnic Pizza.

Wife and I went for a special dinner. Food was very good. Both she and I got the five course meal. Soups were good. The chicken soup with leaks and shitaki mushrooms was the best version I have ever had, wonderful dark meat based broth. Next appetizers, escargot was o.k. and crab cake was unremarkable (I’ve had so many wonderful versions up and down the atlantic coast its hard to measure up). Salads were quite good, caesar and heart of palm. For entrees I had the “signature dish” of lamb which was absolutely wonderful! HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you are at all a lamb fan or want to become one. Wife had beef tenderloin which was very good. Dessert, creme brule, which had a overwhelmingly strong citrus flavor to it along with a wonderful bananas foster (Again, too many wonderful versions in New Orleans, USVI and around the country to to measure up to). Overall, a very good dining experience especially for the money. High points were the entrees and chicken soup (I swear it was some
