My Fiance and I dined here on 1/15. The food was good….I called to make a reservation and was told, “6:30 will be o.k., but I have a 7:30, so you’ll need to be out by then…” Hmmm…..didn’t know what to make of that. For a second, I thought I was booking a massage…. Like I said, the food was good. Coming from NYC, it’s always good to see original eateries like this one….small, low light, etc… Although the reservation was weird, I’m sure we’ll be back. Everyone should get a second chance, right? Everyone, except for our waiter. He couldn’t tell us the ingredients in their sangria.Pros + Food, Romantic Quality, ReservationsCons – Restaurant Size, Too low light, Service

Germantown Cafe is one of my favorite places in Nashville. Their Sunday brunch is such a special treat. The meal starts with their amazing bread that is dusted in cinnamon and sugar. Their fritatas are amazing, their french toast melts in your mouth, and the shrimp grits are insult-your-momma good! I love their pepper-jack grits that come on the side of most dishes for brunch. The last time I was there I had the crab cakes benedict with pepper-jack grits. The eggs were poached to perfection and the yolk was runny and yummy! I have also visited Germantown for lunch. I had the open faced chicken salad sandwich. After trying countless places for their chicken salad (most of them being too bland), Germantown did it right. The pecan honey glaze and fresh fruit make an ordinary lunch item, an extraordinary lunch item. I cannot wait to try out their dinner menu as I hear wonderful things about it. The service is AMAZING! Often the food arriving quickly. The wait staff is incredib

Great place. Interesting menu, fresh food. Having a reservation is a good idea, they fill up fast. The server was very helpful with the menu…

If you are going out any day of the week for a quick bite, this elegant little restaurant is ideal. The food is always consistent and the fish special is almost always to die for. The pricing is completely reasonable from everything from the apps to the entrees. However, the service is absolutely atrocious. Where did these people come from? Upon entrance, my wife and I were snapped at by the hostess, after she had ignored our presence for approximately 5 minutes. I am terribly sorry to have inconvienced this girl to do her job. After giving her the benefit of the doubt and pleading our case, she snapped again quite rudely that they were on a wait. On a Friday or Saturday night, that is to be expected for a place that is quality, however, we were quite offended at this girl’s manners. Talking to patrons like infants is NOT good customer service. After waiting patiently, we were seated. Thank you very much rude little hostess. However, the food almost made up for her behavior, almost…i

Maybe it was the strange location (former insurance office) or the dark black and wine exterior, but there was nothing about Tayst’s nondescript building that enticed me to visit. I’m sorry that it has taken me four years.Tayst was a very pleasant surprise featuring excellent service, intriguing tasty menu choices featuring local produce and an outstanding wine menu. As we all know there are a lot of little things that can make or break a restaurant experience and Tayst was no exception. After being seat next to the air conditioner vent, we requested a new table. The waiter pleasantly moved us to our table of choice with a smile and an apology. Our water Mateo was knowledgeable and attentive but not to the point of annoying. Staff seemed willing and able to do whatever they could to make your dining experience pleasant.Food was expertly paced. I never felt rushed or was waiting. We started with the beignets and crawfish. Excellent! We then followed with salads followed by two main
