Where is the Best Wine List in Minneapolis, Minnesota?
We enjoyed our evening here very much. Everything we ordered was very good – best we’ve had in Mpls. so far (only downfall was the gnocci – very oily). We had a great waitress, loved the atmosphere, were warm on a cold night, the dinner was paced perfectly, the prices were about right, the meal filling, and the service was perfectly paced. I’d go back and have recommended others give it a try. Pros + food, atmosphere, waitstaff, parkingCons – none so far
I’ve been a foodie in the Twin Cities for years now, and I opted to give Cafe Lurcat another try (I’ve visited several times over the years). I honestly don’t get it, this restaurant (by the D’Amico company) tries to be an upscale restaurant, but it isn’t particularly good at anything. The food is above average for a restaurant of this type (as an experienced local, there are much better in Minneapolis, but you can look them up).The service was lackluster. I’ve been to various Michelin starred restaurants elsewhere, and you can tell when you have a server that (1) knows the menu well, (2) cares about your experience, and (3) orchestrates the meal well. Our server only showed competence in (1), the other two categories were markedly inferior. Now, perhaps it wouldn’t be fair to compare to the best restaurants in the world, but I’ve seen servers at various restaurants in the Twin Cities that also score well in all three categories. The best word for our server (and her associated
I went there for drinks and although the bar was busy, the bartender took time to make something special. I am not a big drinker so he asked me what flavors liked, how strong I would like the drink to be, and he came up with a great custom drink! What ever he made, I love it and have gone back a few times with friends to enjoy them. Great service, ask for Ben.Pros + serviceCons – none
My wife and I love W.A Frost. It is always our first choice for date night. We especially love it at the bar – always great service and the bar menu is great food to share in a more relaxed setting. Our current favorite is the BLT with fries – it is so good. We highly recommend the bar for a great dinner or a relaxing drink. Can a brag about the patio in March? The patio is the best in the twin cities.Pros + great service & great ambianceCons – it is a popular place, Valet parking is great on the weekend
The decor is absolutely decadent. I ordered a grilled cheese with a bowl of soup. The cream soup was outstanding. However, the grilled cheese left something to be desired, like melting. A very fresh location with many lunch options. I would highly suggest this place for lunch. Pros + Great SeatingCons – White Bear Lake
