I went to M on my birthday. We loved the decor, the food was very good (the crab cake appetizer – excellent) and service also very good. One bad thing – we got stuck with the table by the front door. Not that there was a draft or excessive noise but I did a walk around and noticed better/more private seating in the back. Lesson 1 – when making reservations ask for a table in the back. Also, M is located in the lobby of an office building and the restaurant bathrooms are in the lobby of the office building – they were clean but I thought that was weird.Pros + Ambiance, Service, FoodCons – expensive

Not many places you can go to get a great pizza and a great wine selection! They have about 50 wines available by the glass, and a knoweledgable staff to help you with your selections. We often get one of their flights of wine with our dinner, then pick a favorite and take a bottle of it home from their retail store.Though they have a number of gourmet pizzas, I often have the pepperoni and I’ll put it up against anyone’s! For the non pizza lover, there’s a variety of sandwiches, salads and finger foods. The atmosphere is upscale adult contemporary. We live nearby and sometimes get pizza and their special “Bistro salad” with maple dressing for carryout.Pros + wine, food, adult atmosphere

i don’t get out to anything this fine quality that often. i love to eat out and consider myself a bit of a food snob. that being said, i can only afford to eat out at a place like this only every once in awhile, and i never felt a hint of snobbery one might expect from such a fine dining locale. our main waiter, Kevin, was fantastic, although I’m sure we threw him off, us not being your run of the mill average customers. I was with Jeremy, and he asked for a second bottle of a british pale ale. it took a long time for kevin to get back, apologizing for the delay and had the news that they were out of that particular ale. So, Kevin first suggests a replacement that would be similiar, and then brings it out, saying, “first take a taste, the i will be back to tell you the story of that beer”it turned out to be actually one of MY favorite beers, ‘La Fin Du Monde’, and he didn’t charge us for it.Such a fantastic place, and when i feel the need, i will definetly be back. Thank You Kevin

Overall, my companion and I had a lovely meal at Alana’s. The hostess who seated us was vaguely cold, but our server himself was very warm and attentive throughout the meal. He recommended an excellent wine for me that coordinated well with my meal. My dish, a vegetable kebab, was disappointingly bland, but the fish my companion ordered was simply amazing. Fortunately, I began with tomatillo gazpacho, which wasn’t as spicy as I’d hoped, but that’s my problem, not the restaurant’s. The interior was quite nice: the several rooms give the illusion of intimacy, while the artwork is colorful and pleasant to look at during lulls in the conversation without being garish or distracting. For a restaurant that seems to pride itself on being vegetarian- and vegan-friendly, though, it would be nice if there were more vegan desserts other than sorbet, which wasn’t even listed on the menu.Pros + attractive decor, great wine, pleasant serviceCons – menu inconsistent, expensive

Some will find BdB loud, tacky, boisterous and inauthentic. And they would be right. Yes, the portions are enormous, but the food is nowhere near as good as, say, Salvi’s or Moretti’s. BdB is not the place for a romantic first date or anniversary – you find yourself shrieking to be heard – but if you’re looking for a fun night out with friends or having an informal celebration of some kind, I’d say check it out. The servers do their best to take care of everyone but don’t expect your glass to be refilled immediately. Parking can also suck. Oh, and try the Spumoni with chocolate sauce. Mmmmmm!Pros + Fun & exuberant, LocationCons – Parking, Very noisy, A bit tacky
