Where is the Best Wine List in Cleveland, Ohio?

We have been living in Cleveland for a few months after spending a lot of time in Europe and tried D’Vine for the first time. We were pleasantly surprised by the extensive wine menu. The flights we ordered were very well thought out. I had a flight of Cabs and my guest had a flight of sparkling whites. Each of the flights gave a wide range of what each wine type had to offer. The flight of cabs had a mixture of berry, prune, tannic, etc. My guest is not a fan of reds and even she marveled at the fact that her unititiated nose could discern the difference. On the down side, two of the “sparkling wines” were brought to the table flat. The waiter quickly corrected it explaining that the sparklings sometimes are flat. (I did wonder, since he returned so quickly, if the fizz was regenerated by a bit of sugar or if they actually opened two new bottles). We also had a pizza (hand formed and backed to perfection) and “tapas.” (I am including quotes because these dishes bear little resemblance

Although the food is great, the portions are incredibly small. I once ordered a fish lunch special which consisted of a piece of grilled fish that was no more than 2 inches by 5 inches, a tiny pile of scallop potatoes and 5 green beans!Cons – tiny portions

Nice atmosphere. Good layout. Affordable drinks. The neighborhood has a cool character. Back room and patio are nice places to get away if you want to have a private sit-in with friends.

After a few weeks of down-time, Ohio City’s finest wine bar has re-opened across the street – next door to The Flying Fig. The space is bigger; but the atmosphere couldn’t be cozier! The glass pours and wines by the bottle stand-out for both their boutique selection and outstanding taste. The food compliments the wine perfectly and the various small plates are ample enough to create an entire meal. There’s no place nicer to take a date or meet a friend….we had a great time, my girlfriends and I, and we will definitely make this a regular stop.
