Where is the Best Weekend Getaway Hotel in Portland, Oregon?
I’ve stayed here five times and every visit has been truly outstanding. The stately property drips 1940’s Hollywood glamour without being fruity or campy. It has a natural regal quality which is wonderful! What I love about Portland is that for a small city, it certainly has a plethora of wonderful accommodations. And as much as I love many of the property, I believe the Hotel Deluxe to be the best.Valet, Housekeeping, and the Front Desk always perform flawless. Aveda products, flat screen with a terrific menu of stations and movies, Chic decor with a sense of humor, and all an homage to Hollywood. The property, like a good movie, transports you to another place and time. The standard rooms can be a bit small, but the suites are not much more and well worth the extra coin!Other positives are the intimate stylish lounge that has superior drinks and a very attractive happy hour. The only take-away for the hotel is the location, which stuck in limbo between downtown and the Nob Hill. Still ,
Just got back after spending two nights in a hot tub room at Bonneville Hot Springs resort. Overall, I would describe the hotel as a 3 star hotel charging 4 star prices that wants to believe it is a 5 star resort.Hotel appearance: Lobby with fireplace is beautiful. Hotel itself was clean. Our room was clean although we did…
The room was very comfortable and the bed was excellent. Every staff member we encountered were friendly and the desk staff was extremely helpful with all questions we had concerning bus routes, restaurants, etc. The location was perfect and we were able to access everything by walking or thought public transportation. Would definately stay here again!
My husband and I stayed here for 4 days in August (summer is their busiest time). We stayed in the Elliott Smith room in the basement. Our room was very clean and simple. All the decorations and furniture in the house is sort of retro but very nice. The kitchen (which you share with the other guests) is large and you can store stuff in the fridge if you need. There was tea, coffee, and juice available for everyone and in the morning there were some nice pastries. Although the other rooms were booked we saw the other guests very infrequently and we saw the owners (who don’t live there) only once so it was kind of like having the whole house to ourselves. It’s within walking distance of Hawthorne and there are some nice restaurants and coffee shops on Division as well. It was cheaper than a hotel and the house has much more character than any hotel I’ve ever stayed in. If we hadn’t moved to Portland we definitely would have stayed here again. My only complaint (and not a very significant
