Where is the Best Waxing in Raleigh, North Carolina?
I have lived in Raleigh for about 4 years now and I found a hair stylist when i first moved. Not so long after, she moved and the company would not tell me where she went, so i tried a few other stylists and just didnt like them. I have really dreaded getting my hair cut since then and its been a couple of years. I have always been a hair person, wanting all the latest cuts, but when you dont trust someone, you dont really care to get your hair cut. I happened to drive by Elle one day and made a call to check out the 411, and fell in love just by talking to them on the phone. They asked about my hair type, and what style i wanted so they could pair me with the best stylist for me. The set up an appoinment with extra time to discuss my hair with the stylist. Mary Taylor cut and styled my hair and i have to say, she is amazing. She took the time to listen to me explain how my hair is, and exactly what i wanted. I have been going to this salon since they opened the doors, I get my color, pedicures, facials and eyebrow waxes there. I was told last week about the citysearch voting taking place. If your reading this post i want you to know this salon is AMAZING. There is so much attention to detail! The skills, decor and just the way they make you feel when you walk in the door is fabulous. They always make me my favorite- green tea with fresh mint and honey. Everyone always greets me and makes me feel so special- i have been to some salons and the other stylists never even smile. I was referred to Lauren by a coworker who is very particular about her hair. Needless to say, I was NOT disappointed! I had a head full of hair since it was not cut or colored since last August! Lauren took the time to listen to what I wanted as far as cut and color. She offered a few magazines for me to find pictures of styles I liked and then went through them with me to find what would work best for my hair type, face shape and skin color. I believe in working with what you have; not fighting against it. I think some people are disappointed when they are unable to get the look they want because they are expecting too much for what they have to work with. A miracle is not going to come in the form of good hair. Lauren spent a lot of time with me and even stayed after hours to make sure she did a complete overhaul on my hair. I grew up over seas where eyebrow threading and body waxing are very popular. I moved to NC 3 years ago after college in FL and have been looking for a salon that offered threading! I have been to several salons in Raleigh and Cary that only offer waxing and what a disaster! I left too many salons with a completely different brow shape, uneven brows, eyebrow hairs missing and not growing back in important places! Yikes! Eyebrow waxing is messy, inaccurate and can rip off skin and leave you red and agitated for hours.
