Kelly Peach, stylist, has an uncanny knack for finding a style that works for YOU with little to no direction. She also takes time to help her clients learn how they can reproduce a style at home. She’s also great company, which always makes it seem less like an appointment and more like coffee talk.Kelly Baker does the best eyebrows I’ve ever seen and had done on myself! I moved to L.A. six years ago and I’ve spent a lot of money and time going from place to place in search of a really good facial. Went to many of these celebrity endorsed places that tout themselves as having “advanced technologies” and “unparalleled service and results.” Wrong! I would always end up walking out of the place with a cute bag filled with over-priced products that were pushed on me with claims that they would do “miracles” and a high-priced mediocre facial. Also, I guess because they have a celebrity clientele, these places feel they are doing their non-celebrity clients a favor because the presumptuousness is palpable the minute I stepped in the place. No warm welcome here. As for the facial itself, if you claim to be “health skin experts,” then apply that so called expertise and give me a good facial. Don’t just massage my skin! Ok Ive been to a few different places to get Brazililans.I have to say my waxer was pretty fantastic. She was so FAST, i must have been out of there in 7 minutues. Other places have taken much longer sometimes 20, sometimes even 40 min. She made me feel totally relaxed.Only bad thing about this place….the fact that they dump baby powder all over my crotch after its done instead of taking the time to remove leftover wax bits or finishing my entire area with a soothing oil or lotion or anything .but regardless, it was pretty painless and now im silky smooth. oh and did i mention its only $39? um yes. cheapest ive found so farPros + quick, efficient, pretty painlessCons – thoroughness
I have been a client to one of the esthetician’s at Serene Haven for the last year. Her name is Devyn and I recommend her. I have received several facials, chemical peels, airbrush tanning, and now also eyelash extensions from Devyn. She has a firm but gentle touch, and she listens to your concerns. There is a feeling of total understanding and desire to help you in feeling better about your skin and what you are there to achieve. I have never been disappointed in any of her services because she is highly skilled and she really listens to you and WANTS to see you happy. I have known Bob for over 20 years, and I think we’ve become good friends during that time. But it’s not due to that friendship that I write this review, it’s mainly due to the few bad ones I’ve read so far on the site. Yes, it can take longer in his salon than in others, no, he probably won’t care that you’ve been sitting there annoyed, listening to him go on and on about something you don’t care about. But if you really trust his judgement and experience and you let the rest be part of the price you have to pay for that level of expertise, you too will become hooked like many others. Over that many years it was natural we would disagree on many issues, and once I even took a one year break from him. During that time I had my hair colored (but not cut) by others, but I was never happy. I had to return to him and accept that Bob was a package deal, and that the positives more than outweigh the negatives.
