Where is the Best Waterfront Dining in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania?
The Scene A large, comfortable room with high ceilings and huge demi-lune chandeliers is cloaked in colors of white, tan, and yellow with large faux marble columns. There is a small bar on your right as you enter, and tables inside and on a patio. Service is surprisingly fast, and the waitstaff is friendly. The FoodThe classic Italian menu centers on a wood-fired oven and grill, as well as pastas and salads. The antipasto del casa with fried calamari, mushroom ravioli al forno and shrimp canneloni easily serves three or four as a starter. The pizzas have a thick crust, while the flatbreads are rolled out to a cracker depth. Toppings range from the simple margherita to an unusual shrimp scampi flatbread with tomato, carmelized onion, and bacon. Try the house specialty gorgonzola crusted strip and the signature pasta bravo with penne, grilled chicken, mushrooms and a roasted red pepper sauce.
My fiance decided to eat there for her birthday Tues night nice crowd good atmosphere good service . what i was dissapointed about was the only thing that counts… THE FOOD!!!. Our appetizers Ahi tuna and Spinach crab dip came out fast , but we both agreed tuna tasted fishy for what it is . We eat it everywhere raw and we couldnt finish the 5 pieces. Crab dip was ok but for $14 you hate to see canned crab meat. Chowder we ordered def wasn’t homemade pretty much tasted like eat n parks potatoe soup. these I can all live with , but my meal is what I’m most disatisfied with. I ordered the Cr ab cake and gulf shrimp combo… Came out cold didn’t say anything.. 3 shrimp (med) not large, and 1 crabcake size of a golf ball for $24… Crazy! i ate it but just shocked I love a nice place but c’mon $24 I know it is alot classier then redlobster or ktetzlers or even roland’s but They all give you so much more for the money!!! A college student here in Pittsburgh, I find the Sunday Brunch at Grand Concourse a very enjoyable experience. Ever since the beginning of freshman year, we would head over to Station Square on a monthly basis not only to get away from the less than pleasant college campus food, but also for a good time. I personally look forward to the omelets – by far the best I’ve had here in Pittsburgh, but also to the fine selection of meats, vegetables, fruits, and other miscellaneous breakfast and lunch items such as the mini-doughnuts and the orange juice fountain. Although there is sometimes a substantial wait time on Football Sundays, there is usually almost no wait time, even for a large group such as ours. I look forward to continuing to see good services such as welcoming hosts and live music every month until I finish my studies here in Pittsburgh.
