Where is the Best Vegan in Los Angeles, California?

Went there on a Sunday evening. The place itself didn’t impress us too much, as the furniture had a touch of fast-food parlor. The place wasn’t too crowded. The menu seemed to focus on asian cuisine, which we did not expect. Anyways, we went for their veggie Satay as an appetizer and ordered two of the Chef specials as the entrees. The Satay was good, but the entrees were much better – very flavorful! Even though we’re not Vegans, we did not miss the meat. Only drawback was the hot tea: Way too expensive for a common tea bag. Nonetheless, we are definitely going to return.Pros + FoodCons – Very limited parking, tea was too expensive

My friends and I were going to a show at the El Portal Theater and wanted a place to dine before the show.We decided on Eclectic because we could walk to the theater after dinner. We ended up having the BEST time. It is sort of an artsy, jazzy wine bar with a GREAT VIBE!. The place seemed very “New York-y” Our server was really nice. The food was really good. I had the Calamari -which was more of a calamari steak that was pan fried…not the usual deep fried rings you get at other places- it was tender and very nicely prepared. for my entree, I had the Mahi-Mahi. It was came with a white wine caper sauce. It tasted really fresh. The best part, was the wine flight. They had several, I chose the Latitia flight. It was fun to get to taste several different wines from the same winery. I thought their wine selection was really good, not your run of the mill wines. We didn’t have dessert on this visit. This was our first time here and my friends and I so excited we found a ne

I first heard of this restaurant on the news one morning, a couple of years ago. I live in Pasadena and rarely, if ever go to the West side of town. However, I am vegan and always kept this restaurant in the back of my mind. Well my son and I finally went this past Sunday (1/25/09) to the La Cienega location. They sat us right away, the host was very friendly and polite. After reading all the reviews, I must say our order did take a while to get to us. Especially when we ordered desert. That took a long time, and my son commented, “are they baking it or something? Don’t they have it already made??” Thankfully, we weren’t in a hurry, and I was enjoying my evening. BUT…the food is fabulous! Its been many years since I’ve looked at a menu and didn’t have to figure out what I was going to eat. To be able to eat anything on that menu was liberating! The serving portions are large, and very tasty. I was quite happy with the quality of the food. Our order did take a while, but

That was one damn good turkey burger. So good I couldn’t stop thinking about it and must write right now. Finally made it over there today, for lunch. “Spiked Turkey Burger”: organic turkey mixed with green olives, jalapeno, red (bell) peppers. Tomato, onion, house made pickles, organic cheddar or swiss. $14.It was good.Coleslaw was good too. My friend had the regular burger, and proclaimed it was excellent, w/ the fries. $16. We eyeballed the fries with Himalayan salt under the Sides, and asked if that’s what comes with the burger. Waiter said yes. But I don’t believe him, the side of fries tasted like there was no seasoning at all. Some of the fries were overcooked. If they could make such a memorable turkey burger, I want to try their other dishes. Will be going back for sure. And big kudos for focus on local, organic ingredients. Slow food, that’s the answer.
