Where is the Best Upscale Casual Dining in Providence, Rhode Island?
From the moment I arrived I was impressed by the professional staff of valets, maitre’d, and especially the service. My server was extremely knowledgeble of the dinner menu, and offered a few wine recommendations. We took his advice on a bottle of Chateau Musar which was oddly enough from Lebanon, and as he informed us it was amazing and paired beutifully with our entrees. My partner had a Grilled Sirloin that was served with these amazing fried balls of potatoes, and a rich sauce redolent of cognac and cracked pepper. I chose the special which came highly recommended, the specialty pork from Japan was served two different styles, braised ribs and grilled loin. In short the whole experience was amazing from the tenative and helpful service, to the amazing food coming out of the kitchen from Chef Todd Lesakowski, this is a restaurant I will surely frequent.Pros + beutiful city views, valet parking, food
If you like uppity attitude and waiting a long time for your drinks, bevo is your bar. Sure they do have a boatload of creative martinis. Sure the place looks great inside but do you really want lip service from the staff if you happen to sit down on an empty seat? Unless you’re VIP, I’d just go someplace where they value you. Pros + Lots of martinis to choose fromCons – Uppity attitude
I was attracted to Gracie’s by a card for a complimentary dessert tasting for two. I was not expecting to be as impressed as I was. Gracie’s was a perfect companion to our cool summer night on the town. The food was excellent, the service was very good, and the ambiance was so romantic I almost made out with the people sitting next to us. They have valet, so parking is a breeze. We were seated immediately because the restaurant was empty (I LOVE Providence in the summer. Everyone is gone at the beach). The menu was semi-American/Italian with heavy French influence (read: small servings, lots of weird words). It displayed a suitable amount of pomp in choices of ingredients and foods. Their menu is on their website. For our first course/appetizer we ordered the artisanal cheese platter (pricey at $18) which came with a selection of five cheeses. One of these was recently rated “the best cheese in the world.” I’m not sure I agree, but it was excellent nonetheless. It came with a small dol
