Good prices and the food was great. The bar is rather smoky and close to the restaurant section, but our service was good and their dessert was outstanding.

We had reservations, so by the time the rest of our late ariving party arrived, we were seated right away. However, once we got to our deck sets, service increasingly slowed. As a corporately trained server/trainer, I usually prefer to give benefit of the doubt when it comes to service. But with knowledge of servers that I have previously trained taking employment with this restaurant, I know that sidework takes precedence over service. While the wine service was great, not many restaurants these days give ‘proper’ wine service, it took over thirty minutes to get our soups/and ten minutes later to get our salads. If everyone at the table orders either/or . . . everyone should have a plate in front of them when food is delivered. All in all, what should have been a dinner that just lasted a bit over an hour, lasted us over two hours. Refills were not observerd until patrons were dying of thirst, water was not offered with alcohoic drinks (DRAM Shop training). The food came out

The staff was excellent including a very friendly hostess. Despite the menu being only two pages, there was a HUGE array of daily specials without prices. Goat, lamb, pigs, seafood from all over… the list was way too extensive for a diner to contemplate and really know what they were having to pay. The serving sizes were huge; highly recommend ordering one dish per couple and sharing. Produce was not fresh – tomatoes served in salad were not ripe; side of vegetables (carrots, broccoli and snow peas) looked like they were of cheap quality, overcooked, previously frozen or all of the above. Ordered the wild boar. While it was tasty, it wasn’t as fresh tasting as I imagined it would be. With so many daily specials, such a small restaurant could only offer so many dishes if food was frozen, especially meats and seafood. Tried a scallop from my husband’s dish; it was by far the least fresh scallop I have tasted in the Pittsburgh area. Strongly suggest that the menu is made smal

Bikki, Bikki, Bikki …. almost a household word in Pgh these days. I admit to trying this place just to impress all of my stay-at-home-Mom friends. Food was delicious…still dreaming of the fois gras.Service was very disappointing. Young waitress argued about whether they would validate my parking ticket for the Shadyside garage (she must not have read the thousand reviews that boast this customer friendly perc). Ugh! She was also not well versed in the night’s offerings and seemed to be guessing at the answers to our menu questions. Subsequent visit hooked us up with a friendly, but equally clueless waiter. He opted for the run-back-to-the-kitchen-20-times-and-ask-the-chef instead of his predessors guessing routine. Oh well- food was exceptional with creative presentations. Will be back for more. Warning- $6 corkage fee…..Hopefully they’ll get the wait staff to do some homework and things will get better.Pros + unusual menu, delicious food

My wife and I live approx. 90 miles from Pittsburgh in a backward, horrible little town. When we need refreshed we take a weekend trip to The Renaissance and we dine at Opus. I give this place my highest accolades. I have been to some of the finest hotel’s and restaurant’s in this great country and I can say with absolute certainity this is one of the 10 best. This place is everything you could ever want for a get-away weekend. The staff of this hotel and restaurant are the finest anywhere and they will make you feel like the president. On a scale of 1 to 10 it rates a 42.Pros + Everything, Food quality, Service
