My boyfriend and I went to Melograno on a Tuesday night with reservations for 7:30. Even though it was a weeknight the place was packed and I was happy that we had a reservation in place since there were about 3 parties waiting for tables. Our waitress was “ecclectic” to be nice…since we were spending a good amount of money for our meal I expected her to look and act more professional. She had crazy makeup, and was wearing grungy jeans and beat up black sneakers! She didnt seem to care that our bread was delivered late and we never received olive oil at all. The older man that was filling our water glasses was a million times more pleasant than our waitress. On to the food…Our appetizer WAS delicious…we shared the portobello with goat cheese and it was rich and full of flavor. My meal (pan fried chicken w/ proscuttio and mozzarella) was severely overdone, dry and completely flavorless! My boyfriend had the pasta with shrimp and scallop, and it was JUST OK. WE heard great things

The chips… were de-lish. Crispy on the outside, and melty soft on the inside. The fish was excellent too… closest thing to the local London Chippy! The side/dip sauce… could have a tad more fiest to it!But all in all… the Fish ‘n chips… were excellent!Downside… there was only one bottle of vinegar in the 2 floors of service area, and my chips had cooled off by the time the our waiting mate could locate it. Make sure you have them get the malt vinegar and worcestershire sauce upfront… before the food arrives… if you like your chips that way.Beers were great… Frambois on tap… yum!Cheers!Pros + Really good … Chips!

Decided to give this place a try based on reviews seen here. Where we eating at the same place? If the cook is an “alum” of Lec Bec Fin was he the dishwasher? The food here was distinctively average at best and therefore overpriced. $24 for rack of lamb that came out fully cooked through when I asked for medium is pretty bad. Sides were huge mounds of plain steamed broccoli. Plain and uninteresting food clearly geared toward the older crowd. This place wouldn’t last a minute in the city and I remind myself why that’s where I usually dine!Pros + decor, parkingCons – , service (amateurish), overpriced

We would not go back. The 4 of us arrived 15 minutes late for a Saturday night reservation. We even called the restaurant to let them know we were running a little late, were told “not to worry – the table is yours until 9:30”. Our table was not yet ready when we arrived. We waited about 5 –10 minutes to have it cleared. We ordered our appetizers and dinner promptly. The appetizers we served in a reasonable amount of time, but the dinner took at least another 45 minutes to be served. Less than ½ hour after being served dinner, we were asked if we wanted tea or coffee, and that we would have to take it “to go” as another party was waiting for our table. We were speechless. Our friend, a physician, who made the reservation and suggested Django, said very politely to the server, that the kitchen was exceptionally slow and was the cause for the delay. They apologized and gave us “dessert to go”. While the meal was overall very good, but on the funky side, my husband could not eat his – the

First and more importantly, the food and presentation were very very good. Both appetizers (a ginger fried squid and an oyster selection) were delicious. The halibut over a tomato risotto was light and fantastic. The pork chop with white beans and escarole was hearty and excellent. With a bottle of wine and tip, the bill came to around $140, well worth it for the quality of the food ? However, when I?m spending this much I don?t like being greeted by the Hostess as if we were at a fast food joint. ?Hi ? how are you guys tonight? just doesn?t seem appropriate at a restaurant of this caliber. We were addressed in this manner by her several times during the night ? the other staff, thankfully, not following her lead. Maybe I?m a snob, but at these prices . . . . . .It?s cash/check only ? they do have beer and wine but you can BYO, with a $5 corkage fee.Cons – A little hard to find
