Where is the Best Upscale Casual Dining in Kansas City, Missouri?
The staff was too busy having fun to wait on customers on my last visit.Three attractive women smoked, showed off tatooes and made drinks with one hand (so they wouldn’t have to put down the Marlboro) and provided about the worst service imaginable.The table service was a little better but not much. Our waiter forgot both orders, came back to correct them and then brought his original mistake.The food was good but we would rather have what we ordered.Pros + Wines by the glass, menu, ambianceCons – expensive, bad service, nicotine addicts
The last 2 years that I have come to Kansas City I look forward to going to Hereford House. I did not go to this exact location but rather the one at 661 N Stoddard Ave, Kansas City, MO. Their steaks were perfectly done and could cut them with a fork. I love the Blue Cheese covered strip. I was not too impressed with any of their side item choices but then again I am also picky about what vegetables I like to eat. The last time I tried the scalloped potatoes and didn’t care for them.One of the best parts is the dessert. They have a white chocolate bread pudding that is to die for. It is not like any other bread pudding that I have seen and if you like white chocolate this is a must! And you can get it en flambe to make it even better.Pros + White Chocolate Bread Pudding!
One question…. how did I not know about this restaurant? I am so glad I have found it!! From the food to the service, everything was excellent!! I can not wait to go back!For our entree we ordered Scallops, Veal and Duck. All of which were amazing but the Duck was over the top. If you are willing to try or already like Escargot then you MUST order this! A little suggestion, dip your bread into the butter and garlic sauce after the Escargot is gone. Also ordered the Warm Goat Cheese Salad. Oh my goodness, it was delicious!! Really, I can’t say enough about the whole experience. You need to check this place out!Pros + FoodCons – None
I had no problem with the crowds. It did have noise, but some people like that. There wasn’t a problem with hearing anyone in your party. Yes I did have to wait, but there are so many people its fun to people watch while you wait. You can order half portions, but I’m not complaining when I get to take home a nice dinner for later. The food was great and the service was just as good. The number of people and level of noise on the inside doesn’t make it very romantic. If that’s what you are looking for then you should ask to be seated outside and away from the main doors. After I read some of the reviews on the service I’d like to point out that it’s a very busy and very big place.
