Where is the Best Upscale Casual Dining in Cleveland, Ohio?
Wish they had an online menu. My wife loves REGULAR Italian food, not there mediterranean style. Looking for succulant veal or chicken parmesan, speghetti with meatballs, chicken or shrimp in alfredo sauce & angle hair pasta, try Little Italy. NOT VIVO’s. Couldn’t understand half the menu. The veal that I had was still on the bone and wouldn’t have been enough for my 8 year old. The wine is overpriced, BUT, the atmosphere was fantastically romantic. You’re basically paying for the atmosphere, but should be able to find that at a less expensive place with food both my wife and I can enjoy. Im sure the food would be fantastic for some with more exotic tastes, but if you’re looking for regular, good, large portions of traditional Italian food, Vivo’s is NOT the place. Not there fault, just wish they had their menu on line.Pros + Romantic, AmbianceCons – Pricey, non-tradit’l Italian
Pier W was a Cleveland-area favorite of mine, an extremely well-run restaurant, with excellent cuisine. Note the past tense. Sad but true, but Pier W has suffered a tremendous drop in quality. I was running late, so I called twice to let the restaurant know I was stuck in Thursday Night Football traffic. No one answered the phone, either time.Upon arrival, no greeting, just “Two for dinner?” Then seated at a two-top near the side windows. Had to immediately move, as the heater was on high, and blowing directly on my legs.Twenty minutes later for drink orders, and the pattern of the evening was clear: decent food, oblivious service. For the price of this meal, I could have had two better ones in the area.Sad to say, but I think Pier W has jumped the shark. Pros + Appetizers, saladsCons – Entrees, service, atmosphere
