Where is the Best Trendy Scene in San Francisco, California?

The menu is a bit eclectic as certain things share similar billings that wouldnt normally appear together on a menu. But the food definitely works and when you factor in the very reasonably priced wines they have a lengthy list of wines that are all under 20 youve got a winning combination.Service neither stood out nor made me want to walk out the door but it did its job. I think theyre more into letting your party focus on each other instead of standing over your table and monitoring your progress every step of the way.All in all a great place to go if you want to impress a date as I observed at least 4 other tables one night on at least first or second dates.

We ate at paul k on Friday. I had heard great things about it, so I was excited. The ambience of the restaurant is hip and fun. Nice bar area as well. They have an innovative and interesting wine list with a great selection for all tastes and wallets. The service was attentive but lackluster–nothing overtly bad but nothing very impressive, either. We had two appetizers–the artichoke hearts (bland preparation–more oily than anything) and steamed mussels (delicious, with feta/mint/tomatoes mixed into the broth). Our entrees were disappointing…the grilled lambchops were so fatty that I could barely cut them with my knife (surprising since lamb is usually lean). The grilled prime ribeye tasted more like flank steak. We had the cheese plate for dessert–very good with a glass of their tawny port. All in all, it was good, but nothing to write home about. Pros + Great wine list, chic ambienceCons – So-so entrees, lackluster service

Expect to run into mortgage brokers, lawyers, and accountants here because the bar is where they like to do a lot of their drinking, evidently. The kitchen, on the other hand, is a little less serious…

I love the interior design. I came here to work a few hours on my computer, sat next to the street window, and just watched the hours passing me by.No comment on food/beverage, it’s classic. Wifi runs…

Went to XYZ for the first time for Dine About Town. There were 2 options for every course as well as wine pairings, which were OK, not excellent. My appetizer was a beet salad which made me realize how great beets are! It was delicious and simple. Our entrees, braised short ribs w/ broccoli rapini and salmon w/ risotto were tasty but very heavy. Flavors were good but I didn’t feel like it was something worth going to a pricey restaurant for. Dessert was excellent though, the semifreddo of banana bread and vanilla ice cream topped with candied walnuts was a great way to end the meal. Unfortunately, we felt overstuffed and there was little time in between courses to just take a break. There was a feeling of being rushed out of there (even though there were still open tables). Overall, very posh surroundings make it fun but food didn’t live up to expectations.
