Where is the Best Trendy Scene in San Antonio, Texas?
Even though this restaurant is in a strip mall it provides an initmate setting with excellent food. From the Crab Cake appetizer to the salad to the Steak Stilton the food was excellent. The waiter asked if it was a special occasion, it was. We received a wonderful blueberry cobbler for dessert for free and had a keepsake photo taken of the event. We will be back.Pros + Great Food Value, Intimate Setting, Excellent Wait StaffCons – Parking
Across the street from the Alamo Quarry Shopping Center and the Quarry Golf Course, this San Antonio eatery has a patio that cannot be beat in San Antonio. The service can be suspect, especially if your server happens to be one of the greedy and often inconsiderate servers on the premises. The food and value more than makes up for the sometimes poor service and expensive drinks (often rung up at a higher rate, if possible, by unprofessional servers seeking a higher tab and tip, at the coustomer’s expense). The food can be great at times depending on who is working in the kitchen. It seems as though some of the real talent in there has left long ago, however, more often than not, you get better than average american fare. Be sure to order the Spinach Artichoke Dip with the Focaccia Bread. Also great on the appetizer menu is the Oyesters Rockefeller. As for the Lunch and Dinner options, the Pecan Crusted Chicken is outstanding as are many of the salads and sandwiches including the Baked
We attempted to get in this restaurant on Xmas Eve and whoever the manager was taking names seemed extremely frazzled and said he was hoping not to take anybody after 9:00 – would be too late,,,,blah, blah, blah… Very confusing. So the next afternoon (Xmas), we put our name down for a “wait” time – we were told no reservations and we left. When we showed up the same man as the night before told us 45 min to an hour and never looked at our name. We stepped to the side and another manager (who seemed to be more in charge and was very helpful and was helping all over the front of the restaurant) called our name 15 min. later and said he didn’t know we were there, he just took a chance calling the name. We had a lovely seat and a wonderful meal. Linguine with creamy clam sauce (I’ve had all over Italian restaurants in Chicago) was excellent, pasta with gorgonzola sauce was Delicious!. Plain old spaghetti was almost like homemade, bread and olive oil were wonderful. Two other pa
This restaurant was recommended by a Professional Aquaintance. Finding it was easy once we were seated, the Waiters (2) were hovering over us, hurrying us to order. We ordered some drinks and said give us some time. The waiter left and came back imediately and continued to want us to order. I ordered an appetizer which is the Lump Crab avocado. He left and was back in 3 minutes wanting to finish the order. We fetlt pressured into order. This is an expensive restauraunt and we should be left to enjoy the experience of the location and the history of this restaurant. They brought out a Black eye pea soup that was cold and had absolutely no flavor even as I added a bunch of salt. The Crab was brought to us and It looked more like a dip and I thought it needed some chips or something to go with it. We ordered the Riby Eeye and Salmon. After what was in our opinion an very long time, I asked the waiter as to the Status of our food. He did not know and went to find out. He came back 5 minut
