Where is the Best Trendy Scene in Salt Lake City, Utah?
Wow!!!! Spice of Life is right, a great place to settle down with your friends or partner or a date you met at one of the local gay or straight clubs just around the corner. Not to mention youre within walking distance to the Gateway and all that’s happening in downtown SLC. The decor is wild, fun and trendy. The service is excellent and the food is “out-of-this-world de-lic ious!” They have a great wine selection among other drinks. The Manager is great and “cute” and everyone is friendly. My partner and I have always felt welcome and we have an absolutely delightful time. If your visiting from out of town and your gay, straight or somewhere in between, make this one of your stops on your tour of SLC you won’t be sorry. Cheers!Pros + location, friendly, good foodCons – none
Today was my fourth visit to the Metropolitan. My first visit was during Fall Dine-O-Round, when the restaurant was rolling out their new lunch menu. The Bison burger was great, and I don’t even like burgers. I was excited to try some other lunch menu items, and thoroughly enjoyed the caramelized onion and fig pizza with fontina and goat cheese during my next visit a couple weeks later. When I came for dinner a month later I was worried to find the menu had a limited number of non-seafood options, but enjoyed the entree I selected.Today I came back for lunch. We selected the restaurant from a few options based on my recommendation – naturally I had high hopes that the food would be as good as I remember. I was disappointed to see the quality of the food has diminished considerably. The salad tasted like unwashed weeds. The oil and cream in the soup had separated by the time it was served. The bite of panini was as good as I remember, but the sweet potato chips were sporadica
I received a gift card to this place, looked at the other reviews and was very hesitant to check this place out, but boy am I glad I did. We went on a Sunday night so there is a plus right there – open on Sundays. The hostess was nice. The service was great. The wine was really good. The apps were SO fresh and full of flavor. We have the hand stretched mozzerella and a flat bread with goodies on top, then the entrees arrived and they were just as amazing in flavor. My husband had the steak – it was HUGE!!!!! He ended up taking some of it home – a rare occasion when he orders steak. I had a pasta with mushrooms that was amazing!!! We had to save room for desert so we got our entrees boxed up to go and ordered dessert. The dessert was wonderful!!!!! I had a chocolate torte with mocha gelato on top – it was divine. My husband had the bread pudding that was fabulous!!! It was served warm with big plump fresh berries. Our experience was wonderful. I feel bad for those reviewers that did not
