Reviewing Pod is like writing a review for the movie “2001: A Space Odyssey”: theoretically, yeah, OK, I guess I have no real reason to argue with you if you say that this is what life will be like in…

Had a very similar experience as the reviewer! Was just walking by Sotto Varalli after a performance at The Wilma, saw the crowd and wandere…

When reserving, (from out of state, over a month’s advance), I CLEARLY STATED, SEVERAL TIMES, that this would be my parent’s 50th anniversary dinner. He said he wrote it down. They didn’t wish my parents Happy Anniversary!?! Our waiter DID remember to wish Happy Birthday to the woman at the next table. Maybe they got his attention with their pink boas. Maybe the gifts on our table, wrapped in silver & gold paper, being opened by 70-ish folks, me wearing a tux with gold tie, and ADVANCE NOTICE THAT THIS WOULD BE A 50TH ANNIVERSARY DINNER…AS IN ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME SPECIAL OCCASION wasn’t obvious enough. I don’t think that common courtesy needs requesting. The server AND hostess dropped the ball on this detail. If acknowledged like ” On behalf of all of us at Varalli’s, congratulations on your 50th Anniversary”, I’d be TOTALLY raving about our experience. Pros + Food , Service, AmbienceCons – Attention to details.

Have been to Morimoto a few times, now, and each time still feels like a very special occasion. Chef Morimoto’s sushi is my absolute favorite meal on earth…no one else does it like he does! I understand he has the Tuna flown in from Japan…nothing else like it! The presentation of each dish is so beautiful, so imaginative, it makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Love the ambiance…soft light change colors all night long…lovely sculptural details everywhere, the ceiling included…cozy tables…wonderful staff…they are SO knowledgeable!! Of course, there are other meals available…Morimoto’s Omakasi(sic)is my husband’s favorite – a little bit of everything, Chef’s choice, and it is different each time…a Sensual experience, my husband says! Do expect to pay commensurately for this type of experience…for two people who like to eat and drink(!!!), I’d say a minimum of $200.00…but you will never forget, or regret, it.

I had the pleasure of visiting the denim Club on Feb 9th. I found the women to be wonderful looking and attractive but I also found it hard to hear or see in the dance floor. There were cigarette butts under the seats and under the booths.( they evidently didn’t clean before they opened it) I ordered a whiskey sour and it was 6 bucks. I asked for a beer instead and that was 3 bucks. I realize they have to make money but when you just open a club you have to start slow with prices or you won’t get customers. The place needed better decor as well. All I saw as a rainbow flag at the elevator. This reminded me of “ladies for the 80’s” dances which were brillant . Oh,one more thing, you need to warn the girls that parking is bad in that area, you may wind up spending 20 bucks in a garage. Unless you can walk 4-5 blocks and not get lost then it works out for you. I do like that its in Rittenhouse square, which is ritzy and safe.I suggest the managers try out making theme nights for their Sa
