First I would like to say that I was looking for somewhere for a nice dinner between my wife and I for our Second Anniversary. She wanted to be surprised, and I being not all that creative or familiar with the city nightlife. I did some research on restaurants, and after narrowing down my options I ultimately chose Fork. The cuisine was American and the atmosphere upscale/casual. Right down my alley. I was not disappointed at all, I had made a reservation online and asked, if possible for a little bit of privacy in my seating location, a request they seemed to honor as they sat us in the front window at a two-seater table with a view of Market Street. Our server was very courteous and attentive. and we had drinks very quickly, and had ordered an appetizer, which came pretty quickly as well. Our Entrees took a bit longer than we expected but our atmosphere and conversation made time seem to pass quickly, Our meals had arrived and we were very happy with the wait. My pork chop(med) was

We would not go back. The 4 of us arrived 15 minutes late for a Saturday night reservation. We even called the restaurant to let them know we were running a little late, were told “not to worry – the table is yours until 9:30”. Our table was not yet ready when we arrived. We waited about 5 –10 minutes to have it cleared. We ordered our appetizers and dinner promptly. The appetizers we served in a reasonable amount of time, but the dinner took at least another 45 minutes to be served. Less than ½ hour after being served dinner, we were asked if we wanted tea or coffee, and that we would have to take it “to go” as another party was waiting for our table. We were speechless. Our friend, a physician, who made the reservation and suggested Django, said very politely to the server, that the kitchen was exceptionally slow and was the cause for the delay.
