Where is the Best Trendy Scene in New York, New York?
I went last friday with a party of 5, when I had a reservation of 4. I arrived early and grabbed a Jack and Coke. I also asked if I could switch it to 5, which they said no problem. After all of our party arrived, we sat down in the lower floor, and the place looked nice; the decor very southeast Asia inspired. For apps we shared the samosas, which were not indian style with lots of potatoes, but mostly chicken. It was good, but not what I wanted, as I was really expecting more starch. The yogurt sauce was good though. The mussels came in a wonderful broth and were just barely cooked, perfect. The Thai chicken wings however, weremy favorite, having a good deal of crunch and heat. The mango slices went very well with that. The crunchy squid salad was very crunchy fried calamari but the squid itself was not chewy at all. I’d been hearing about a place called Boogaloo in Williamsburg for a long time before I finally had a look for myself. Now I can’t believe I waited so long! This bar has everything that is essential for a perfect night out. I walked in off the rough Brooklyn streets and was instantly blown away by the atmosphere inside. Dark lighting with a subtle glow on the bar and tables. Beautiful design. Beautiful waitstaff!! The lovelies behind the bar greeted me quickly and sold me my first very affordable drink. My first of many affordable drinks… The crowd was lively and mixed. Very open and friendly. Very attractive. There was constant dancing in the backroom. Brilliant DJ. People were chilling out and talking at the bar and on benches. I was told about an outdoor deck that I’ll come back to see for sure. Arrived just before the early dinner rush around 6:15 and had a great meal! An absolute must is the Goat Cheese “Petatou” appetizer, to die for! I had a seared Monkfish and my wife enjoyed Steak Frites both dishes perfectly done. Finished w/key lime pie, not the best in the world but refreshing on the first day of summer. Service was decent. My only complaint is that the tables are Miniscule but in someways I suppose that adds to the charm! Pros + great food, charming atmosphere, unique bathroomsCons – tiny tables
I went here for my first time, and thought the food was excellent. I got the apple, walnut, radicchio and gorgonzola salad. My friend got some type of a goat cheese salad with sort of “matchstick” vegetables. My apple salad was scrumptious, and my friend’s goat cheese salad was also very nice.For entrees, I got the veal marsala(?) with shallots and mushrooms. It was divine! The veal was SO tender.My friend got some type of a fish in a pink cream sauce, with beans. I tried a bit, and it was very good.For dessert I got the Po sundae. It was very good although I would have liked a bit more fudge sauce. My friend got what I think was a dessert special that night…a warm apple tart with ice cream. The tart itself was of such a good quality…perfectly flaky.My cappuccino was also excellent.All in all, a wonderful dining experience.The only downside was, the tables are really packed in there…so much so that, in order to sit on the “other side” of the table, it require
